From complete beginner to advanced. The same KMW curriculum used by law enforcement worldwide.
KMW uses a colored belt system that maps to skill levels. Each belt represents a curriculum you'll learn, drill, and test on before moving up.
Your foundation. Stances, basic strikes, defenses against chokes and grabs, and core movement. Open to all new students. No experience needed.
For Yellow Belt students working toward Orange. More technical striking, defenses against bear hugs and headlocks, and combative combinations.
Intermediate training. Builds on Level 2 with more advanced self-defense techniques and an introduction to ground concepts.
Advanced strikes and defenses, more groundwork, and an introduction to weapon defense. Live drilling and pressure scenarios pick up here.
Advanced weapon defense, takedowns, refined execution under stress, and full integration of everything you've learned.
Existing members can keep building toward the upper-level KMW curriculum. Brown and black belt goals remain part of the long-term path, with instructor approval, consistent training, and testing readiness guiding each step.
Belt testing is hosted periodically throughout the year. Each rank has its own training requirements, and your instructors will let you know when you're ready. See Belt Testing & Progression for the full breakdown.
Your foundation. Open to all new students, no experience needed. This is where everyone starts and where you build the core strikes, movement, and defenses the whole system is built on.
For Yellow Belts training toward Orange. More technical striking, bear hug defenses, and combinations that build on your Level 1 foundation.
For Orange Belts training toward Green. Intermediate techniques and an introduction to ground concepts, where your training starts to hold up under pressure.
For Green Belts training toward Blue. Advanced strikes, groundwork, and your introduction to weapon defense.
For Blue Belts training toward Brown. Advanced weapon defense, takedowns, and full integration of everything you've trained, under stress.
Mixed-level training where new and advanced students drill side by side. Great for building fundamentals and advanced work, while getting your reps in.
Classes marked Level 1/2 or Level 2/3 serve students across two adjacent curriculums. Ask an instructor if you're unsure where you fit.
Defense against and use of common weapons: stick, knife, firearms, and improvised weapons.
The fight side of Krav. Footwork, timing, distance management, and live application.
Focused training on the threats women face. Welcoming, supportive, and led by strong, KMW-certified women instructors. Offered as periodic seminars, not weekly classes.
We're developing offsite jiu jitsu programming with Christian Medina, 4th Degree KMW Black Belt and 2nd Degree BJJ Black Belt under Jean Jacques Machado. Stay tuned.
